St. Margarets station, dated 1911

This scene shows the Hertford East to London Liverpool Street up and down lines to the right, with The Buntingford Branch platform to the left.

Peak time trains in the steam era run through to Liverpool Street, by being attached to trains from Hertford. This was not possible in diesel days as the main line was electrified.

A Class 125 DMU awaits departure at Buntingford



69633 awaits to depart with the last steam passenger train 1959. Mr Albert Vandome, the local historian of the time, talks to the crew.

The replacement class 125 DMU stands ready in the siding for it's first service run.
